Curriculum delivery
With the second half of the term in full swing, teachers will be meeting in the coming weeks to discuss student data and the next steps in the curriculum delivery.
Improvement Focus
Each year, state schools develop their Annual Implementation Plan, which sets out what the explicit improvement focus is for the year.
This year at Gympie West State School, our improvement priority is to achieve excellence in English - with a precise focus on learning walls, moderation and feedback.
Students can/will:
- Identify the assessment task, the what/why/how and a learning target, identify their target for improvement, and explain the next steps.
- Effectively utilise learning strategies including learning walls to support their learning.
- Actively engage in receiving and enacting effective feedback to improve their learning.
Our measurable outcomes for Term 1 are:
English Achievement:
- Prep to Year 2: 78% (A – C) and 44% (A – B)
- Years 3 to 6: 94% (A – C) and 48% (A – B)
Attendance
- 90%
Parent Teacher Interviews
Parent teacher interview will be held on Tuesday 1 and Wednesday 2 April. Letters will be coming home shortly.
P&C
The P&C is a great way to learn what’s happening at school as well as allowing parents to contribute to making the community of Gympie West State School great. Our P&C work very hard and are always willing to welcome new members. The next meeting will be the Annual General Meeting being held on Tuesday 11 March at 5pm in the staffroom.
