On Thursday 20 February some of our students from Year 3 to 6 took part in the annual Blaze Hockey Day at Ramsey Park, Southside.

Gympie West State School joined other primary schools from the Gympie area to participate in a fun day of learning hockey skills and playing modified mini hockey games. 

Thanks to Mr Widdon, Ms Green and Gympie Hockey for supporting Gympie West to participate in this great day.

Here is what the kids had to say about the experience:  

"Hockey was fun exercise. We learnt how to play hockey and learnt how to be a goalie." - Lennox and Hamilton (Year 3)

"It was fun to play sport, be with our friends and learn something new. We learnt about hockey positions and how to score goals." - Tundi and Sophie (Year 6)
