Principal's News
Next week is the end of the First Semester of the 2025 school year!
It has been a very busy and productive Term 2 for our Gympie West State School students and staff.
Sports Day
Next week we have all our athletics events over a few days.
On Thursday the whole school will be participating in activities on the oval. Our P&C will be operating a food stall and a coffee van will be available. The program has been sent home to all families and will be published on Facebook.
Report Cards
We continue to inform you of your child’s progress with written report cards being sent out in Week 10. Please check your email and junk mail to ensure you receive your child’s report card. We invite you to contact teachers if you wish to discuss your child’s progress.
Year 5 Camp, Year 6 Reward Day, Pyjama Day
The Year 5 Camp and Year 6 Reward Day to Rainbow Bay have been thoroughly enjoyed by all participants. Everyone is excited to have our disco and free dress pyjama day next Friday (27 June) to celebrate our PBL achievements this Term!
Staffing Updates
Many of you are aware one of our long term staff Mrs Tarrant is retiring at the end of this term. Mrs Tarrant has been at GWSS for more than 25 years. She has taught many of our families and is held in high regard by our school community. On Wednesday, Mrs Tarrant will be our guest at parade and we invite families to join us as we recognise her service to our school.
Mr Widdon, Ms Rozynski and Mrs Biddle are on leave currently. Mrs Hooper will be on leave for the two weeks of Term 3.
Mr K is returning to our LOTE position for the rest of 2025. Mr Falconer will be teaching Health for Prep to Year 3 as Mrs Gosden is taking leave for Semester 2.
Mrs Thompson will be teaching 3R alternate Fridays for the rest of the year as Mrs Minns is also retiring.
We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday break!
Yours in education,
Alana Scott | Principal
